We the teams, in order to form a more perfect competition, establish fairness, insure against shenanigans, and secure the blessings of a wonderful evening, do establish these rules for the 2026 Global Gourmet Games:
- In honor of America250, each team will represent the U.S. state of their choice. Team names are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, and the grid is quickly being filled. Register early to lock in your choice of state!
- Each team will be led by its own Team Captain and will be assigned a competition official. For each contest, Team Captains will sign off on the team vote and hand the answer card to their official competition member for delivery to the scoring table. Late submissions will receive a score of zero.
- The areas of competition include food and wine tastings along with trivia questions focused on history, the American Dream, nutrition, health and medical research.
- The Spirit of ’76 Award recognizes the team that best demonstrates creativity and enthusiasm throughout the evening. It carries bonus points that have proven to be difference-makers for past champions. To win, a team should think outside the box – way outside the box – to coordinate theme-based costumes, bring provocative props, sing patriotic songs and develop team cheers, often raucous in nature, that grab the attention of the Founding Father.
- Wine-tasting competitions are limited to one entry per participant. The reasons for this rule are self-evident.
- For the quizzes, no use of AI software, hand-held devices or apps will be permitted. Turncoats who are discovered cheating will be disqualified and penalties administered.
- A perfect score for the evening – which has never ever been attained in GGG competition history – is 400 points.
Best of luck. We look forward to seeing how you and your team represent your state.
